BUT store up for yourselves (Matthew 6:20-21)

BUT store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:20-21
This is a perfect follow up to yesterday.
Treasures in Heaven to me is showing kindness and love to others.

BUT the Son of Man (Matthew 8:20)

Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests,
BUT the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
Matthew 8:20
Stop and think about this for a minute....
The entire time Jesus was ministering to people He had no place to call home. I really can't comprehend this as my home is my sanctuary, my safe place. BUT made me think that heaven truly is our ultimate home and once again Jesus reminds us to not get caught up in this world.

BUT let them not turn to folly (Psalm 85:8)

I will listen to what God the Lord says; He promises peace to His people, His faithful servants— BUT let them not turn to folly.
Psalm 85:8
I can't help BUT post this for St Paddy's day. It is all well and good to have fun
BUT be careful that it does not turn to folly (lack of good sense; foolishness)

BUT when you give (Matthew 6:3-4)

BUT when you give to the needy,
do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
so that your giving may be in secret.
Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6:3-4
This is a great motivation for Random Acts of Kindness! Go do something for someone today that is not expecting it You actually may end up with the greater blessing

BUT the tax collector (Luke 18:10-14)

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“BUT the tax collector stood at a distance.
He would not even look up to heaven,
BUT beat his breast and said,
‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
Luke 18:10-14
This story encourages me every time I read it. We as Christians need to be reminded where we came from and who we would be without Christ.

BUT the sick (Matthew 9:12-13)

 On hearing this, Jesus said,
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor,
BUT the sick. BUT go and learn what this means:
‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’
For I have not come to call the righteous, BUT sinners.”
Matthew 9:12-13

BUT only God (1 Corinthians 3:7)

So neither the one who plants
nor the one who waters is anything,
BUT only God, who makes things grow.
1 Corinthians 3:7
As we look around at the close of winter all we see if trees that look dead. Have hope God is doing a work that we can't see and soon He will share all of His beauty with us. If you are discouraged today Have Hope God is working in ways you can not see!
