BUT whoever repeats the matter seperates close frinds (Proverbs 17:9)

Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,
BUT
whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
Proverbs 17:9
This verse speaks directly to gossip. Don't repeat matters that are not your business instead foster love and keep it to yourself!

BUT... fools delight in airing their opinion (Proverbs 18:2)

Fools find no pleasure in understanding
BUT…
delight in airing their own opinions.
Proverbs 18:2

Do you find yourself doing all the talking in most conversations? Be careful sometimes it is better to make sure you are listening to make sure you understand what the other person is feeling.
It is best to only give your opinion if you are asked otherwise it often comes across judgmental.

BUT.... He who opens wide his lips (Proverbs 13:3)

He who guards his mouth keeps his life,
BUT… he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Proverbs 13:3

God is so good. I have found myself in a situation that I did not know whether or not to talk to someone. As I did my daily reading this HUGE BUT spoke to me.  Maybe you are going through something and the best thing you can do is guard your mouth and keep your lips closed. This may seem difficult BUT ask God, if He can keep a lions mouth closed He can keep ours guarded too.

BUT...only speak what is helpful (Ephesians 4:29)

Do not let any unwholesome talk
come out of your mouths,
BUT…
Only what is helpful to building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:29  NIV

This verse was part of this Sunday’s message called Fighting Mad by Pastor Beau Adams at Community Bible Church. God can do amazing things in your life when you turn your mouths over to Him. To me it has been like learning a new language. Stop and think about what you want to say and then allow the Holy Spirit to translate it to words that may benefit those who listen. It is hard work BUT all it takes is surrender on your part and one day it is as if you are bilingual and you find yourself being a positive speaker. I speak from experience!

But... the mouth of fools (Proverbs 15:2)

The tongue of the wise enhances knowledge…
BUT…
The mouths of Fools gushes with stupidity.
Proverbs 15:2 CEB

We all know someone who talks to much (or maybe that person is you)
This is a great life lesson- to speak less and listen more.
