BUT I cannot carry it out (Romans 7:18)

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me,
that is, in my sinful nature.
For I have the desire to do what is good,
BUT I cannot carry it out.
Romans 7:18
Do you find yourself starting off your morning thinking,
" I got this, I am going to treat people nice,  I'm going to have a great day".
Then before you know it,  someone has cut you off in traffic, people at work are so demanding and no one else is being nice so why bother!
Let that be a beautiful reminder that Jesus loves you no matter what
and its only when we remember His love for us and fill ourselves up with His love
that we can fulfill that desire to do what is good.
Don't go at it alone my friend. Let Him carry your burdens.

BUT... while Joseph was in prison (Joseph Gen 39:20)

But while Joseph was in prison,
the LORD was with him;

he showed him kindness.
Genesis 39:20
Joseph may have been in a literal prion, BUT what kind of prison are you in today? Are you fearful, worried, jealous? Remember the Lord is with you and wants to comfort you where you are at.

BUT not merely given back ( Luke 6:35-38)

"I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You'll never - I promise - regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we're at our worst.

Our Father is kind; you be kind.

"Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults - unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don't condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you'll find life a lot easier.

Give away your life; you'll find life given back,
BUT
not merely given back - given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity."
Luke 6:35-38
This BUT needs no commentary from me.

BUT... to do justice (Micah 6:8)

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
BUT..
 to do justice,
and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
Are you seeking something from God today? He has told us what to do. Just for a moment stop and make sure you are offering justice to others, the greatest way to show kindness is to give it.
Start a chain of a random act of kindness today. and most of all
realize who you are walking with... GOD himself.

BUT... a troubled heart (Proverbs 15:13)

A
Joyful heart
Brightens one face…

BUT
A troubled heart
Breaks the spirit.
Proverbs 15:13  CEB
Joy has a way of over flowing. Even if a person is not smiling their face still shines. ha
