BUT.. the things that come out (of our mouths) (Mark 7:15)

There is nothing from without a man,
that entering into him can defile him:
BUT… the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Mark 7:15

All I could say was WOW when I read this. It is not what we put in our bodies that make us unclean BUT it is the things that come out of our mouths that does. Verse 21 and 22 goes on  For from within, out of the human heart, come evil ideas, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, evil, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, pride, and folly. my prayer is back to yesterday’s oh Lord help me to keep my mouth shut!

BUT.... He who opens wide his lips (Proverbs 13:3)

He who guards his mouth keeps his life,
BUT… he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Proverbs 13:3

God is so good. I have found myself in a situation that I did not know whether or not to talk to someone. As I did my daily reading this HUGE BUT spoke to me.  Maybe you are going through something and the best thing you can do is guard your mouth and keep your lips closed. This may seem difficult BUT ask God, if He can keep a lions mouth closed He can keep ours guarded too.

BUT... my salvation will be forever. (Isaiah 51:6)

I love God's timing it is perfect. Just as I am beginning my training to be a flight attendant and I will have more opportunity to look at the earth beneath us. I am reminded that it will vanish BUT for those of us who have put our trust in JESUS - we will have together forever. (see you someday my sweet Crystal)

BUT... take interest in others (Phillipians 2:3-4)

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others.
Be humble,
thinking of others as better than yourselves.
Don’t look out only for your own interests,
BUT… take an interest in others, too
Philippians 2:3-4
Our church had a message on how to deal with difficult people yesterday and the #1 best approach is to take interest in others. Far too often the problem is the “I” problem when we put our desire above everything else. Christ command to us was to “live at peace with everyone” (Romans 12:18)

Try it today and see how the difficult people disappear.

BUT... the things we cannot see will last forever (2 Corinthians 4:18)

So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, BUT… the things we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:18

No matter what you may be going through. Take a moment and stop and take your eyes off the situation. This is only temporary. God has something amazing waiting for you for eternity.

BUT... if salt loses its saltiness (Mark 9:50 )

Salt is good;
 BUT
if salt loses its saltiness, how will it become salty again? Maintain salt among yourselves and keep peace with each other."
Mark 9:50 (CEB)

I don’t know about you BUT I love salty foods. When I add salt it just seems to make everything else better. This verse reminds us that we should me the salt for each other. So today go out and make someone’s life better!
