BUT He was pierced (Isaiah 53:5)

BUT He was pierced for our transgressions,

    He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
    and by His wounds we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

On this Good Friday please take time to remember what He did

so you could live with peace and the hope of Eternity.

 

BUT Jesus knew what they were thinking (Luke 6:7-8)

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law

were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus,

 so they watched him closely

to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.

BUT Jesus knew what they were thinking

and said to the man with the shriveled hand,

 “Get up and stand in front of everyone.”

 So he got up and stood there.

Luke 6:7-8

I am so glad I don't have to get caught up in rules and religious laws!

Thank you Jesus for your never ending or conditional healing and love!

BUT the Son of Man (Matthew 8:20)

Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests,

BUT the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Matthew 8:20

Stop and think about this for a minute....

The entire time Jesus was ministering to people He had no place to call home. I really can't comprehend this as my home is my sanctuary, my safe place. BUT made me think that heaven truly is our ultimate home and once again Jesus reminds us to not get caught up in this world.

BUT the one and only Son (John1:18)

 No one has ever seen God,

BUT the one and only Son,

who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known.

John 1:18

Have you seen God? Draw close to Jesus and you will be amazed at how He will show you the Father. You don't have to physically see them to experience their love, grace and mercy. Steal a few minutes of your day today and look for God.

BUT that He loved us (1 John 4:10)

This is love: not that we loved God, 

BUT that He loved us and sent His Son

as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

I realize that God loves me no matter what BUT of late I realize that my sacrifices do make  a difference in my relationship with Him. What am I willing to sacrifice? TV time, personal time, my wants, desires? Even in our personal relationships I have found that the more I am willing to sacrifice my own desires the closer I feel to my love. 
Think about it?

BUT Jesus often (Luke 5:16)

BUT Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

With so much going on during this holiday season one of the best gifts you could give your self is to withdraw for even a moment and pray.

BUT with God (Matthew 19:26)

Jesus looked at them and said,

“With man this is impossible,

BUT with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26

I am not sure what you are going through today, BUT I know from my own experiences that this verse is true! Pray today and give your troubles to Him and He will show you the possibilities!

BUT...few things are needed (Luke 10:38-42)

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 

BUT Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 

“Martha, Martha,”the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,

BUT few things are needed—or indeed only one.Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:38-42

I have been caught in this trap many times in life where I get caught up in the busyness of life and don't take time to STOP and spend time with my Lord or others He has laid on my heart. I praise God the older I get the easier it is for me to not worry about the stuff!

BUT... there is a friend (Proverbs 18:24)

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,

BUT…

 there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24

Praise the Lord that Jesus is always with us NO MATTER WHAT.
 If you feel lonely today reach out to Him He is waiting to be there for you. BUT… He will never force Himself on you. 

BUT... also for those who believe in ME (John 17:20-21)

I pray not only for these,

BUT…also for those who believe in Me through their message.

May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.

May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe You sent Me

This was Jesus pray to the Father. He prayed for you and me and others who believe through the message we share.  The number one way others will believe is by watching how well we get along. When I taught children I told them to have JOY you need to put

Jesus first

Others next

Yourself last.

BUT... so the world may know (John 14:31)

But… so that the world may know
that I love the Father, and just as the Father has commanded me, thus I am doing.
Get up, let us go from here!

On this father’s day I can’t think of a better verse. This is Jesus speaking His desire is to go see His Father. What a great example and a way to show the world that you love the Father. Go to Him today. As you spend time with your earthly father I pray you will make time for your heavenly Father as well.
